 Waco Brunch

We all know breakfast is important, but let's be honest, brunch is where it's at.  Especially when you're exploring Waco and need a little fuel to check out all those amazing homes for sale. Waco is brimming with charm, history, and unique vibes. Beyond the iconic sights and attractions, Waco offers a growing food scene, and brunch is no exception. Our agents love exploring local options, and while they may have favorites or go-tos, they have a pretty long list of restaurants they want to check out in town! We're excited about trying some new ones and revisiting old favorites!     A comfy, friendly vibe and great breakfast and lunch fare make The Toasted Yolk a standout among Waco brunch spots. The murals that adorn the building will be the perfect backdrop for your selfies, and we can't wait to see your snaps.
  • Street Dog Cafe - 406 Elm Ave, Waco, TX 76704
    A green business alliance member, occupying the former Lula Janes' spot in East Waco on the picturesque Elm Avenue, Street Dog Cafe attracts an eclectic crowd. Here you'll find people from all walks of life, all gathering -some with their pups in tow- to enjoy delightful dishes. Parmesan herb biscuits, baked oatmeal, and peanut butter pie are some of the staples you'll find here, and even though this blog entry is focused on brunch, we have to tell you… we have LOVED their weekly lunch specials. More than just a restaurant, they have a social mission to help dogs get foster placements or adopted into their forever families -We'd be happy to help you find a home for ALL of you, and make sure it meets the needs of the pets in your life.- Every week they focus and showcase a pup in need, and their socials tug at our heartstrings. Their partnership with The Humane Society of Central Texas aims to promote adoption of these dogs in need. Their food offerings also cater to many dietary restrictions, and their weekly specials will have you coming back for more. We cannot wait to run into you at Street Dog Cafe.

  • Cafe Cappuccino - 100 N 6th St #101, Waco, TX 76701
    With a Downtown Waco location on 6th street and a second spot uptown, Cafe Cappuccino is a beloved destination among local breakfast and brunch aficionados. Their Belgian waffles are top-shelf, and egg-centric offerings like Mexican omelets and crab eggs Benedict are reliably delicious. Check them out while exploring Waco, and bonus, the location at 1101 Richland Dr. Waco, TX 76710 is incredibly close to the Kelly, Realtors office!   • La Madeleine - 2816 Marketplace Dr, Suite 101, Waco, TX 76711
    Our local outpost of a widespread French cafe chain, La Madeleine offers a quaint rustic atmosphere and an abundance of tasty brunch items. Their breakfast croissant sandwiches are excellent, and the baristas here make some of the best espresso drinks in the area.

  • The Olive Branch - 215 S 2nd St, Waco, TX 76701
    A locally owned bistro and bakery in the heart of Downtown Waco, The Olive Branch is a community gathering place as much as a restaurant.  Whether you're in the mood for mimosas, or a delicious breakfast skillet, The Olive Branch will not disappoint. Follow their socials to find out about their special chefs' dinners, and even the occasional weekend chefs' special to make brunch that much more of a treat! After you're done with brunch, head up the stairs to Spice Village, and enjoy some shopping!
  • Suzy Q's Coffee Shop & Cafe - 1401 S 31st St, Temple, TX 76504
    Just a short drive south of Waco, in the city of Temple, Suzy Q's Coffee Shop & Cafe offers classic diner ambiance, great food and the friendliest service. It's a real local's favorite, serving fresh baked cinnamon rolls, sandwiches and scratch-made soups. Make sure to check out their hours before heading out there, and like many local spots, it's closed on Monday.

  • Waco Waffle Co. - 224 Halbert Ln, Waco, TX 76705
    When you have a hankering for waffles, head straight for the Waco Waffle Co. Just recently opened in 2023, they've already established themselves as an outstanding brunch eatery, with delectable made-from-scratch waffles and dozens of sweet or savory toppings.  If you're out there for waffles, make sure to check out the rest of the offerings by Homestead Heritage, from their indoor farmers market (opened in May 2024), classes, workshops and stores, that include everything from furniture making, to leather, pottery and candles, you'll want to make sure you pick up a special something! Fresh-baked bread, cinnamon rolls, tacos and more are also available as offerings from different shops on site.

  • Megg's Cafe - 1749 Everton Dr, Temple, TX 76504
    Another standout for brunch in Temple, Megg's Cafe has been serving innovative and delicious farm-to-table fare since 2010. Their menu is constantly changing with the seasons, but highlights like chorizo omelets and banana bread French toast are perennial favorites.

  • Hecho en Waco - 300 S 6th St b, Waco, TX 76701
    A Tex-Mex establishment in a sleek, modern space, Hecho en Waco puts a south-of-the-border twist on classic brunch fare. You can count on enjoying some of the best huevos rancheros and breakfast tacos in Central Texas at this spot.
  • Guess Family Barbecue - 2803 Franklin Ave Waco, TX 76710                                       
    A BBQ spot serving brunch on Sundays from 10am-3pm, this joint will have some surprising items on the menu that you'll definitely have to sample. From brisket pancakes (yes, you read that right) to more traditional eggs and sausage, you'll want to check them out! Guess Family Barbecue also offers some delicious cocktails for brunch!
  • Maria Mezcaleria - 724 Austin Ave Ste 102, Waco, TX 76701                             
    "Si el dia pinta mal, tomate un mezcal", this and many other sayings can be found throughout the restaurant, a beautiful space with floral accents, and a celebration to mezcal; all their drinks are made with fresh in-house made juices, and since they offer brunch every day until 3pm there's plenty of chances to try their delicious offerings! Maria Mezcaleria has been a hit since its grand opening, and if you have not been yet, you must put it on your list!
  • Magnolia Table - 2132 S Valley Mills Dr, Waco, TX 76706
    Of course, if you live in Waco, or are visiting Waco, you're likely familiar with, or have heard of this spot. Drop by for brunch staples like avocado toast, eggs benedict, french toast and cobb salads in a welcoming bistro-like setting, Magnolia Table is a go-to eatery in Waco. They also offer a breezy patio, offer much of the menu to-go and make many of their dishes using local, seasonal ingredients.
  • Barnetts Whiskey House - 420 Franklin Ave, Waco, TX 76701
    If you're in the mood for a southern-inspired brunch, Barnetts Whiskey House is your go-to spot! Stop by for some shrimp and grits and some Texas-Sized Brunch Cocktails. Don't forget to indulge your sweet tooth with some "Barnetts Bourbon Bread Pudding" or some delicious whiskey cream! Did we mention they have an entire section of the menu dedicated to bacon-centric dishes?! Their brunch menu is only offered Friday through Saturday, plan accordingly!
  • Black Bear Diner - 2424 Creekview Dr. #150, Waco, TX 76711                      
    Open from 6am-10pm daily, drop by for some bear-themed decor, and delicious breakfast fare! With multiple locations found predominantly throughout the West Coast and the southwest of the U.S., the menu at the Black Bear Diner has been curated to offer all-day comfort food & desserts in a woodsy setting.

  • Muchos Tacos (Waco Downtown Farmers Market)- 500 Washington Ave, Waco, TX 76701     
    If you're exploring the Waco Downtown Farmers Market we highly recommend you stop for some pretty amazing tacos at Muchos Tacos! From street tacos (breakfast tacos, carne asada, etc.) to loaded nachos, you really can't go wrong with the options available. We've run into many of our agents and their families waiting in line for their plates here!
